Studio MK27

In tribute to Amazonian women, various traditional basket shapes from the Amazon region acquire a new identity and are transformed into a source of light.
The baskets bear the Origens Brasil (Imaflora) seal, and their QR code allows for tracking products made by traditional communities.
The lighting fixtures created by studioMK27 are made from two types of basketry: one produced by the Maravilha Handicraft Group (Careiro Castanho, AM) using hand-dyed ambé vine, and another made by the Baniwa people (Indigenous Organization of the Içana Basin, Alto Rio Negro, AM), using Arumã fiber, with dyeing and fixatives made from plants native to the region.
