- Arthur Casas Design | +55design
Arthur Casas Design "My constant ambition is to design items that are truly necessary, considering the comfort of those who will use them and, of course, my personal concept of beauty." Arthur Casas believes that the ability to integrate all scales within a single project ensures greater cohesion between its elements. From objects to architecture, every design decision is treated with the same level of care and attention. His journey into furniture design began with the need to “complete” the interior projects in his office, as, in 1980s Brazil, he could not find pieces that met the demands of a home bearing his signature—both in design and dimensions. Over the years, the architect has earned awards for creating exclusive furniture for both national and international brands, and has curated a collection of 10 pieces in the +55 portfolio. The collection includes standout pieces such as the Max dining chair, Jet Set and Soft armchairs, the Apache dining table with a Brazilian marble top and Tauari wood base, the Côncavo sideboard and bookshelf with molded stainless steel doors, the concrete Mineral bench and side table, and the Pan Am sofa in crumpled leather. “These are highly complex designs, and I’m proud they’re entirely produced in Brazil,” says Arthur.

Clarissa Schneider curadora Manifesto 2025
- João Ottoman | +55design
Ottomans Bruno de Carvalho João Ottoman From the modular and standardized wooden structural profiles to the leather strap seat (which maximizes the use of the hide): in this piece designed by Bruno de Carvalho, the notion of efficient use is evident. The name pays tribute to his grandfather, with whom he experienced rural life in the countryside from an early age and observed the cultivation of the land, learning to make the most of it — a concept he now applies to the chair in a self-sustaining way. The strict attention to proportion highlights the care given to the smallest details, and the combination of materials emphasizes the lightness of each gesture. - Lena coffee table | +55design
Coffee Tables Bruno de Carvalho Merísio chess table Chess and its mathematical logic are a direct reference for the materialization of this table. Collectible and in limited edition - only 20 pieces available -, it is designed from the board itself: the designer traced the existing lines, dividing, as in a mathematical equation, each square into four parts. This in turn gave rise to the design of friezes on the surface, bringing out the checkered mesh character. At the top, carved residues of natural stone taj majal quartzite and absolute black granite make up the play area. Playing with one of the supporting feet appears as a way of, once again, making use of mathematics, giving the game a three-dimensional notion, externalizing it beyond the plane. As fractional cubes, these can be rotated, bringing a playful touch to the piece. The pieces on the board feature a clean design, with a queen the size of the king, in an update to contemporary times. designer | Bruno de Carvalho Ebonized Tauari wood Measurements W 97.5 x D 97.5 x H 76 cm Materials _Solid wood and natural ebonized veneer and sculpted natural stone residues quartzite taj majal and absolute black granite Download Bruno de Carvalho Orçamento
