A minimalist reinterpretation of the baluster – a Rococo element so present in Brazilian daily life – gave rise to a collection of tables entirely made of ceramics, designed by Bruno de Carvalho. The complex and extensive production, materialized by ceramist Alice Felzenszwalb in her studio in Rio de Janeiro, required that the three elements that compose it – the completely flat surface top, the leg, and the connection – be molded and fired separately, reaching a temperature of 1170º, to acquire the rigidity of stone (Stoneware ceramics). With two height options (so they can be stacked on top of each other) and three different shades (Egypt, Morocco, and Siberia ceramics), the pieces play with the textures of the natural material, presented either glazed or matte, and can be used in both indoor and outdoor areas.
